Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

I just dusted my chassis off since I built it. Haven't drove it a lot since then, but what are some of the first upgrades I should do? as far as the shocks are the stocks good enough or will I be looking to upgrade those? It came with a FOW and a rear spool. What other aluminum parts would be a goo...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Stick with the 6-6.5 FDR since that is the spec for your motor, you can adjust EPA on your remote. And like I said, you don't need a ton of power. Unless you are trying to race around the track...but racing around the track is not really drifting. It's more about style and angles and the beauty of t...

Re: Sakura Zero S CS Setup Advice Needed

CS drifting will be comfoletely different way of driving than grip/touring racing. For one, you probably already figured out that you don't need nearly as much power. I would turn down the EPA on your throttle a lot and if your remote has Expo, I would turn that up so that your throttle inputs aren'...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

I would try out the 17.5T for now and just enjoy it and learn with it. There's no need to buy extra equipment if it works for you. Just play with the gearing and see how it does and monitor your temps so that you don't burn up the motor. If you want to be more exact with the FDR for the spur and pin...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Im not sure if it really helped with longer drifts since thats the advantage of a front motor...but I am able to tune my suspension better now with the posican setup. I ended up adding soft springs on the rear vertical shocks with some RC926 soft spring set I have and have felt a marked difference. ...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

The devil drift seems nice. I have embarked on an even more advanced setup...I have successfully hopped up a Posican suspension setup to my D3...taken off from those Dori-drifters from Japan. I got the help from Caseymacgyver from rctech forums. http://imageshack.com/a/img526/5743/u9fr.jpg Uploaded ...

The Devil Drift just buy upgraded cvd's
And you're good TO GO
$88 +-

That seems like a good other alternative option...but I might rather have the Broadtech full optioned R31 for a little bit more money.

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Hey, does FOW ver. 2 from sakura zero work in d3 too? http://www.rcmart.com/3racing-front-sakura-zero-sak59v2pk-p-31677.html And is the 10 degree aluminum c-hub upgrade worth it? http://www.rcmart.com/3racing-sakd309pk-aluminum-sakura-p-36153.html?cPath=595_1419_1566 Zero FOW should work fine..just...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

The aluminum solid axle or FOW will help since it doesnt have the plastic supports that go diagonally which could rub the belt. I would highly suggest the Front One Way for this chassis since it will greatly help you with transitions. Make sure you rebuild the CVDs/axles before even running them as ...

sounds good...let me know if there is anything else that I can help out with.
I love this chassis now as I have it and am trying to get as much practice as I can with it...I mainly practice on carpet drift track at the LHS.

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Just make sure there is nothing binding and that things are symmetrical. Also make sure your bearings are clean, no grit. I find that mine does that sometimes. Make sure the pins arent coming out of the cvds...common problem with stock CVDs. They were not assembled as good from factory..tends to com...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

no, no, no...don't worry. you will be fine with 2S...and it will be plenty of power. that chart just states that on 2S, you want to use from 5.5T or greater (6.5, 7.5, 8.5, 10.5, 13.5...and higher) and on 3S (it's 10.5T or higher for on road racing) that will be a good combo. I have HW 60A and the 1...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Guys what FDR should i have for a 10.5T motor ? should look into the motor manufacturer's specs or recommended since it could vary from one manufacturer to another and that way you don't over heat (overgearing) and your electronics stay cool. A side note...for CS drifting, you will want to turn dow...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

I had brought it down a few different ratios...and practiced with the different ratios...but as I got more comfortable. ..I eventually brought it back up to stock 2.14 CS and even thinking about increasing it now.
But now that I'm learning better to utilize the chassis, I like the higher ratio

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Don't those combos come with the program box? You nees the program box to program the ESC.
Not sure about the hackmotos...no personal experience. They are probably fine.
I do have personal experience with both 60A and 120A hobbywing Xerun combos and they have been bulletproof.

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Sensored systems are definitely better for drifting. I would suggest to go with 10.5T combo..with the hobbywing ESC you can turn down the power if you need less power through the program card. If you go with 13.5T combo...then you cant up the power if youwanted more power.

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

I would recommend hobbywing Xerun ESC but not sure if that would work with brushed motor.
My suggestion would be to spend a little more and get a sensored brushless combo...sensored motors are a definite plus when it comes to drifting

Yes...Zero S can be used to drift 50/50 and even converted to CS. I have both chassis and both CS. But c Inverting Zero S to CS isnt as straight forward... but can be done. Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

15T will work. No, the low friction belts wont fix loose belts ..they are same length. Just put 1mm washers under the rear center pulley holder...it will give enough tension to the center belt....or get the Zero S belt tensioner and that will help. Stock steering is limiting in angles.... you can ge...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

The D3 is an excellent chassis once you do some upgrades and you can grow with it. Get a Hobbywing Xerun motor ESC combo from hobbypartz.com. I would suggest the 10.5t or 13.5T combo.
For servo, I ordered my BlueBird fast servo from Hobbyking.com...also have good deals there on Lipos.
