Re: WIP 180sx + first ever body

You could probably just clean up the windows using rubbing alcohol or something a little more abrasive! I'd imagine it would be difficult replacing all of that!

But I love what I can see! Keep up the good work!

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

Had to leave the car at home, so it looks like this little project won't be finished until summer  But, I did manage to finish up a HPI 911 beater body that I'll run around for a bit.. Not sure how much I like it, but I have a lot of details to add! And I have a Yokomo 180SX (Street Version) w...

Re: Calzone's ZBD RX-7 FD3s '93/'99 Combo Spec.

The diffuser and skirts add so much detail, I'm curious to see how this turns out. It'd make me want to get busy on one myself! Hahaa.

Great work though. I love the color selection!

Re: ABC Hobby Lexus LS460 VIP Style

I'm real excited to see this project done! If you were interested in those chrome Kawada wheels still, I saw them on Banzai Hobby's website. It looks like they have larger offsets, too.

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

Thanks guys, I'll have to pick up some of that tape the next time I place a bigger order. I'm going to work on the sharpie/3M method for now (thank goodness I can wipe excess away), it should be closer to finished by next weekend. And to Slideway, I think it would fit any other front mount chassis p...

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

I've been struggling to find a tape that is the proper width for body lines and I haven't found much information out there about how people paint them (minus airbrushing them). Would it work reasonably well if I masked off the trim areas with blue 3M masking tape and took a sharpie to the exterior o...

I have multiple pictures of your S13 downloaded as screensavers. It looks great man!

Who manufactured that body? I can't remember/find your thread for the life of me.

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

Thanks guys! I'm loving how the Kawadas look.. It makes me wonder why I can't find any 1/10 BBS LM's or more european style choices. The yokomo buckets don't fit all that well to be honest. The fronts don't fit the contour of the body (especially around the front bumper). The rears have the same pro...

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

Well to start off, I was busy the last week or so with classes and other things. Waited around for a few things to come in and figured out the next body I'll be working on. Also got a HPI Porsche 911 as a beater for now (just so I don't have to worry about more expensive parts being damaged). Came b...

Well now I feel like I'm just copying everyone. Hahaa.. I haven't seen that 86, but I've seen the white one with white top-lines. Both look really good! I'll have to start thinking about scale stickers now.

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

Thank you for that recommendation! I've read through your blog trying to get a feel for this piece. Hahaaa

Also, Tamiya light buckets have been ordered, along with some other small parts. And I think I'll change up the paint scheme a little and go with Corsa Grey. Thoughts?

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

I found the Kawadas on Ebay if I remember correctly. I checked quite a few shops before I could find any with a higher offset. Funny you ask because your S13 and R34 builds were the reason I even looked for them in the first place! Your work is amazing, especially your new Lexus  In regards to t...

Re: Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

Thank you! I think mine are +9, so they should fit well.. Good thinking, they were too cheap to resist! And about the stealth mounts, I picked up a kit from R2 hobbies and I think it'll work great. The front might be a little different, but I'm still experimenting. Figured I at least needed some pic...

Lurkn's D-Like 86 WIP

After picking up my 3Racing Sakura D3 the past month, I did some research and picked up a few parts. While ordering from Banzai Hobby (Absolutely love their product and quick shipping!), I figured I'd try to fit a D-Like 86. This is the first time working on a body, my first hobby-grade RC car as we...

Re: Help deciding new chassis

I love my D3, granted my first experience was a Sprint 2 Drift. It's a fairly easy build, has quite a few options, and I don't have to worry about throwing it around because I know replacement parts won't break the bank! But I think it's a great chassis for the money, especially if you invest in the...

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that's provided so much information in this thread! It really helped in the decision making process and I couldn't be happi...
