Re: Finding a good radio for RC drifting

My radio finally came in! My choice is the Futaba 4PK Super R. I'm currently going through the manual which is by the way is like a novel book. So far I'm liking all it's features though it lacks telemetry, but as I researched different RC drift forums nobody really uses that feature and only a hand...

Re: Upgrade mods for my Tamiya TA05 VDF II

Thanks ridinvintage . I saw that too from banzai hobby. Almost ordered it, but decided not to. The Toyota Mark II body I have now will be my secondary drift body besides my Yokomo RSR Supra. So far I like the HPI Toyota Mark IIs, so may be next time when I make another body I will consider blinging ...

Re: Upgrade mods for my Tamiya TA05 VDF II

OK, here's more updates. I took this weekend (Sat. and Sun.) to finish working on the chassis. On this update I will be combining two days worth of info and work so it's going to be one long post. Removing and installing is so cumbersome. There's like a gazillions of things that needs to be done, no...

Re: MST XXX-D VIP

Dayum!!! That thing looks HOT !!! It's all blinged out! Just needs a good body and you're off! Funny you mentioned "Tamiya fanboy" as I can admit that I too am a fanboy of that brand. I remember seing at the DriftMission website that MST also have the MST -XXX-D Pro version. Haven'...

Re: Finding a good radio for RC drifting

Thanks for all the replies! It seems everyone is on the Airtronics/Sanwa radio. Anyone alse here has any exprience with Ko Propo's EX 1 KIY? I was really opting for the Ko Propo EX 1 KIY since it looks futuristic, modular design, and a plethora of cool features. However I'm concerned with the overal...

Very nice so far, can't wait to see what is in store. Thanks ridinvintage ! I will update this thread once I get the other parts. Looks great! Have you considered the Tamiya Drift Susupension 84296? Thanks chiefy707 . I opted for the Eagle Racing counter steer front suspension set. I also bought th...

Finding a good radio for RC drifting

Hi CSJ, I'm in the market for a new radio for my drift car. I'm pretty sure many have asked this same question over and over. Before hand that I posted this thread I tried my best to look for reviews on the radios I wanted to get. I also looked at other forums just to see what everyone else are usin...

Re: Upgrade mods for my Tamiya TA05 VDF II

Additional Updates: Today I took the time to install the Tamiya brushless motor. I also finished cutting up the edges of the Toyota Mark II body. The body is all lined up with the mounts and got to ream it out. Finally installed the brushless motor. Tested the gear meshings and snaked up the wires. ...

Alright! The new body and additional parts came in today. Besides the Yokomo RSR Supra that I already have for this chassis I also picked up this one. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/2kwik2c/2013-02-09_14-43-49_677_zpsd57e881e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/2kwik2c/2013-02-09_14-4...

Re: Upgrade mods for my Tamiya TA05 VDF II

Awesome! I felt my car looked a whole lot better once I swapped out my shock towers on my VDF. Your car looks great! Now how about that bumper support ^_^ I didn't know Integy had 7mm hex hubs, i thought they only went up to 5mm. That's something I can really use on my TA03 since that car is way to...

Upgrade mods for my Tamiya TA05 VDF II

To make the story short I've decided to come back into the RC car hobby after a long haitus. I picked up a Tamiya TA05 VDF II kit last year and I'm slowly building it up. There's a few more stuff that I needed for this to start running. But for now I have decided to get a couple of hop-up and parts ...

Steering angle option

Hi CSJs, New RC drifter here. Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge in this thing as I'm barely starting. I recently picked up a Tamiya TA05 VDF II chassis and just started practising driving it around. IMO not bad for something out of the box, but if in the future I decide to go with the count...

Thanks for the compliment. I love the MA86 ever since I got them. Unfortunately WEDs Sports discontinued them.

Re: My 1st RC drift car

What wheels r on ur 86? Had a buddy with those wheels on his miata. I remember they were pretty heavy. The wheels on my AE86 are Weds Sports MA86 15 x8.5 -10 all around. These wheels aren't heavy IMO since they are forged. My old Dori Dori wheels are much heavier than these. There is a wheel that i...

Re: My 1st RC drift car

Thank you guys for the welcome comments!! I'll asked around this forum if I ever get stuck on an issue with my RC drift chassis. Thank you also for the compliments on the AE86. I bought this car back in 2004 and slowly fixed it up. Here's some more photos of my AE86: http://img.photobucket.com/album...

My 1st RC drift car

Hi CSJ members, I'm new to this board, but not new to this hobby. A little history about myself. I use to race (on-road touring cars) back in 1999 - 2005. I race for fun or competitively. I had over 8 Tamiya touring cars at one point and then sold them all around 05' because I changed over to RC Hel...

Re: Hi, New guy, advice on TA-05 VDF 2

Hi Jay, I too just recently picked up a Tamiya TA-05 VDF II kit. A little introduction about my self. I've been in the RC car hobby since 1998 until I stopped in 2005 because I started to try out with RC helicopters. It's not until last year (2012) that I decided to go back to my roots and try out R...
