Tiger.T Setup Update @ 3.58

Hi folks, So after mentioning it a couple time, I finally did an article on my D3 to give you guys the most up to date setup I am running. Some of you on Facebook might already have seen it but I figured not everyone here is connected to me via Facebook so here it is for CSjunkies again. If you have...

Re: Tiger.T's Sakura D3 - 3.45 CS Carpet Setup

Ok I finally found out how you got your 2.2 (Calcs are always "Driven Gear : Driving Gear") So my transmission (rear axle only) = (12:14)x(30:28)=0.917 Now my gear ratio is "Spur : Pinion" so 96:40= 2.4 Final Drive Ratio 2.4 x 0.917 = 2.2 Now why do you not take in consideration ...

Re: Tiger.T's Sakura D3 - 3.45 CS Carpet Setup

I do need to re-gear the car though as my FDR is too high. Too low, actually. 2.2 will barely fit a 30T crawler motor, but 13.5T must have a hard time trying to spin the wheels. Not sure how you calculate FDR but according to the DriftMission Calculator, my FDR is at 8.28. Not 2.2? Unless their too...

Re: Tiger.T's Sakura D3 - 3.45 CS Carpet Setup

hmmm not sure what you are talking about Stalwart but it moves perfectly fine. Keeping up (if not faster) with my MST friends running 10.5 @ 1.8CS. I will post a video later on so you guys can get an idea. I do need to re-gear the car though as my FDR is too high. As far as being RWD it's nothing li...

HPI RTR Street Pony

Hi there, Just wanted to share pictures of this body I recently did. Nothing crazy, just a bit of styrene, an LS1 engine bay and some custom headlight work. It's far from perfect as I made it to use daily so excuse the rough edges and little nicks and scratches. The paint is PS-37 Translucent Red, b...

CT Motorsports Track Inaugural 09/07/13

Hi all, I've been helping my local hobby shop to get a permanent Drift track going and so far everything is going smoothly. I designed two tracks; one a copy of Ebisu south course and another one with up to 24" elevation styled like a cali mountain road type. We are almost done with the first t...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

The devil drift seems nice. I have embarked on an even more advanced setup...I have successfully hopped up a Posican suspension setup to my D3...taken off from those Dori-drifters from Japan. I got the help from Caseymacgyver from rctech forums. I'm liking that setup. I've been thinking of doing a ...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Alright, I'll take note of that. I tried CS about three years ago just before taking a break until now. I had a TA-05 with a mild CS ratio so it was pretty easy to get into, that's why I was surprised how loose the D3 was compared to the TA. I guess I'll cut the throttle by 50% to start with to avoi...

Re: 3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Hi guys, I got a quick question. My LHS finally got a bunch of D3s in stock so I grabbed one last weekend. The kits they ordered are the pre-assembled ones. I also got a FOW and the SSG lower deck. I haven't drifted the chassis yet but some kid was already back at my LHS whit his own D3 complaining ...

Re: toyota Celica 1600 GT

Haha! that's exactly the car I used to inspire myself. I just fell in love with it and had to steal a couple goodies from this 1:1. The next one I will do will most likely be a replica of another Celica 1600 GT but this time it'll be a hatchback. Btw I haven't forgotten about the video people asked ...

Re: toyota Celica 1600 GT

I will for sure. And I got the tires from Banzai Hobby for one reason: the one stocked by ABC USA themselves are not stocked regularly and since I drift on carpet track I was worried that if I would use a medium compound from ABC it will grip too much. The tires I bought are from Spice. ABC does mak...

Re: toyota Celica 1600 GT

Oh yes they do! I will post a video next weekend. I'll go to my local track to show you. Last weekend was my first time there and I was running better lines than the locals who were running sprint 2s. I have a front one-way, tight rear diff and stock gearing on a 13.5 Novak Drift spec. The tires are...

toyota Celica 1600 GT

Hi all. So I haven't posted much because I'm just getting back into the hobby, but here is my basher I run on my ABC Hobby Genetic.(don't mind the scratches :shy:) Like the title says it's a Toyota Celica 1600 GT. I fabricated the oil cooler in the front with a couple goodies I found around my house...

Have you tried to email R2 for a PDF manual maybe? I know 3Racing offers a pdf manual online and one comes in the box. It looks fairly similar to the R2 light kit. Maybe you should take a peak at this one. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/3Racing-LED-LIGHT-SYSTEM-for-1-10-RC-CAR-fits-Tamiya-HPI-Drift-Touring-...

Re: Help Picking a radio

...overall, i really like the mt4, you get tons of features and a great quality radio in a small, comfortable, lightweight package. Thanks Valentin. That's great input. On the other hand, I think I'm going to stick the 4PL. The only real thing that attracted me in the MT-4 was the telemetry but I c...

That's what I thought. Well thanks, that's exactly what I needed to hear. I used Futaba in the past and never been disapointed so I think I will stay on the same team. Carnage, feel free to post your review still. I will not get my stuff for another month or so, so I still would like to hear what yo...

Help Picking a radio

So I am torn between two radios for my new setup. I figured maybe I can get some opinion from the board. I am debating between the Futaba 4PL and Sanwa MT4. Here are the specs: Futaba 4PL: http://www.futaba-rc.com/systems/futk1400.html Sanwa MT4: http://www.airtronics.net/index.php/radios-receivers/...

Re: Making a conversion kit for ABC Hobby Genetic.

Well, there goes my first update. I'm going to have to work on the steering angle to see if this is possible to achieve. Right now it looks like I would have to make some custom turnbuckles or some extensions for the knuckles balls. But anyway, here is the picture http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: Making a conversion kit for ABC Hobby Genetic.

Thats cool man! It is a really fun chassis to drift. Still feel sorry i sold mine a while ago. Keep it up! That's funny you say that because when I sold my first one, that's how I felt. That's why I picked this chassis to get back into RC drifting. I'm hoping to find some compatible CS gears for it...
