Re: Baja's RWD VDF V3

They're just toy cars and we're in the hobby for fun so I like to help people if I can. RWD is much harder than CS so it will be better for everyone is people shared their set ups more. The best thing I've done to my project lately is to go from 0.5 rear toe to a full one degree in. Huge difference ...

Re: Baja's RWD VDF V3

Thanks guys.

I've been working on this a far bit and my new set up is very stable. No stupid wobble like my last running vid. I'll be posting a new one pretty soon anyway.

Re: Baja's RWD VDF V3

Video coming soon.

Rear battery was the best thing I've ever done to this project. More rear grip, near 50:50 balance, more stable on and off power, faster, better handling everywhere etc. It makes a huge difference but an utterly great one.

Baja's RWD VDF V3

A year of work and this is what has happened so far. Up to Ver.3 now ( well V3 2.0 but yet to take photos of that ) So far this is the best RWD I've ever built or driven, almost as fast as CS on carpet too. :) http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/t554/sliverarrow/018_zps382e1bd3.jpg http://i1313.phot...

BMW E30 art car

It's kinda based on the Le Mans BMW art cars and somewhat a Gatebil car. It's alright for a weekends worth of work, I did it while watching Le Mans. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5140/9p2g.jpg http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/2839/5rzp.jpg http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1461/dyxl.jpg http://img69...

They're pretty much the same though the works ones are the latest, most likely have small updates and the better O rings over the older black coated ones.

Proper Tamiya masking tape is the best, clean lines all the time and it's pretty flexible.
I use a hobby knife to lightly clean up small bleeding.

40 - 16 front and a 22 ( or 23 ) - 30 ( or 32 ) will let you use stock belts.

Re: best esc/motor on the market

I'm biased but Speed Passion ESC's seem to last forever, I have a GT 2.0 pro from 2009 that still works like new and my GT 2.o LPF in my VDF that's very good. Their line of MMM V3 motors are good though there is smoother out there, LRP or Reedy.

Re: Drifting question

I'd go with the 10.5 myself as even a 17.5 is enough to drift well.

Real Yokomo parts should fit, most clone stuff isn't reliable and the plastic tends to be much more brittle than real parts though.

Re: Grease in rear diff

Clean out as much as you can as and little bits of the plastic left will make the new gears chew themselves up too. You only need a very very light film of grease and anymore will make them slip.

Re: Ta03F CS

Most 1/10th scale car bodies ( 190mm,200mm etc ) should fit but you need to remember that the TA03F has a big motor in the front.

Yeah the stock CVDs don't have much lock.

The Eagle Racing ones are the best to get.

A 'torque splitter' is a oneway.

As for locking the rear, that's all up to you but most like a locked/spool rear diff.
