team magic E4

Postby pedrotommy » Tue Aug 17, 2010 5:16 am

hi everybody

this is the way i've done countersteer on my chassis, a Team Magic E4...
my english is not very well, and i hope the pictures and the explanations will be clear...

needed materials:

-14 theet pulley for ta03

Image

-20 theet pulley for tc5

Image

-32theet diff pullet for ta04

-19theet brake pulley for team magic G4

Image

-and, very important, an E4 chassis XD

first, change the original 17t lateral pulleys with the 14t and the 20t pulleys

Image

here on the rear we have to enlarge the hole of the pulley, original is 4mm, and we need 6mm

then, i've changed the fornt 17t pulley with the 20t...
we have to enlarge the hole here too, and to enlarge the place where the pin goes...
i've removed the grain (i don't know the right english name, is the screw without the large part in the head) that holds the pin, and used a m3 screw, with 3mm and 6mm washers, and using a longer pin, to keep the pulley in the right position

Image

now we already have a little countersteer, 1.44 ratio...
i've used this configuration for about 2 months, and i thik is good to learn what is countersteer...
but, if we want more, we have to modify also the pulleys for the rear belt...

for the differential, i've used the 32t ta04 pulley, the original team magic was 35t...
this pulley fit perfectly without modification, just disassemble the team magic, and assemble the tamiya, remembering that tamiya uses 10 balls, and team magic 12...

Image

with this pulley we haven't to mount the original dust-protections...

Image

in the end, the 17t pulley on the main shaft...
here i've had to modify a lot the 19t G4 brake pulley...

Image

it was s much wide, then i've cutted it

Image

it has had 2 pins, that were so much longer, than i've cutted 'em too (in the pic, one is cutted and the other is original)

Image

here we have the assembled shaft...

Image

and here, mounted on the chassis...

Image

with these pulleys, i haven't change any belt, only the rear was a little long, and i've solved this, using a longer screw for the belt tensioner...

i run with this ratio from november, and i feel very good... son i will post a video....

i hope you enjoyed and understood my tut... ^^
