Posting Pics

Postby oski83 » Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:45 pm

Admins,

Can anything be done about increasing or allowing larger pics to be posted?

Even after hosting pics on photobucket and reducing them to "medium", they still get cropped once posted...making them smaller would loose details in the pics.

Any other helpful suggestions on getting pics posted without getting cropped by forum width?

Thanks!

I will look into that once I get the new host setup.

Please let me know what is a fair size, width/height and file size. It won't matter as much on the new forum because it will be unlimited bandwidth but still want to keep the site running smoothly.

Cool...hopefully it will fix all the bugs once on a new host.

When we were on GD and even on other forums many of us belong to, I used to post pics hosted on Photobucket using "Large" . Even at that size, the forum page when viewing on a normal screen, filled the entire screen. ...I can get you actual Pixel sizes later if you want

I have double 19 flat monitors at work and the Widescreen 20 something at home...regardless of which screen Im viewing forum on, the forum page wont fill the width unless I mess with resolution which makes everything else wacky

Ah but wouldn't that make everyone that has smaller resolution really wide were they have to scroll left and right? I was trying to keep the forum under 1024x768 because that seems to be the average screen resolution for most people.

well it wasnt so much the resolution as it as the forum page layout itself....

Im sure if you view the page in just about any size monitor in that resolution, you would still have the dark grey border areas on both sides of the screen. That is (what I think) making the pics get cropped since they dont fit in the Light Grey area...maybe u can just widen the light grey area and remove the dark grey areas on both sides?

Oh yeah I forgot you use that other forum layout. Not sure what I can do about fixing that.
