Denis's custom TB Evolution IV IFS. DIY project.

Postby Deniss » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:48 am

Make: Tamiya (Custom)
Model: TB Evolution IV (Custom, IFS)

Date: April 18, 2012
Track surface: Asphalt, Concrete
Tire: T-Drift
Motor & ESC: 12T EZRUN & Hobbywing Ezrun 60A ESC

Front

Camber: -1.5°
Toe: 0°
Kick up: no
Caster hubs: no
Ride height: 7 mm
Springs: TRF medium; 3Racing medium
Bumper weight: 95 g.
Trailing Steering Block: custom
Sway-Bar: yes
Shock Oil: Muchmore 300
Other: Yokomo Type-C arms; IFS

Rear

Camber: 0°
Toe: 0°
Kick up: 4mm
Ride height: 7 mm

Sway-Bar: yes
Shock Oil: Muchmore 300
Other: C-hubs

Drive Train

And so, my project began with a drawing and a piece of aluminum thickness of 3 mm. All sizes, I figured myself. As a result, surprisingly, all matched.

Nice job on the build. Must be a really stiff chassis, I must be scared crashing that hard into a wall. Anyways, looking forward to see more progress.

Wall will be demolished after that!

I cut and file all by my self. Except for milling.

Thanks! Again, you want me to cut lower deck like this for you, or just to clean it?! I already cleaned it. It took an hour to remove that sticky s**t from it.

Worked hard to add more steering angle. Reached shafts limit.

0.5 mm only left!

if you put in that belt then that defeats the purpose of having a shaft driven kit IMO.
