now go to a metal work shop or some where theres a grinder and colect the grinding dust its just metal in a poweder form
all i have left
Image
use glue to hold this to ur body or u can just put it on but it does fall of just sprinkle over area u want it if u want u can wet the sufrace with whats is mentioned in the nexted step
Image
now u need a spray bottle and in this you put well what i use is white viniger and brown viniger table salt and water just balance it all in the bottle sea water would also work as well
Image
spray over the dust if glue wasnt used dont spray to hard or you will blow the dust away
Image
now give it a little bit to dry but dont let it dry right out and repeat coats you will start to sea it look rusty the more u use the darker it will get

How well does it stay on. Does it flake off?

There are also patina finishes you can buy at place Michaels craft store that produce a rust effect. You simply brush on the primer and the the patina rust effect. A lot of high detail modelers use this. It only cost about $20 for both bottles and you have near a lifetime supply if just using it for RC bodies.

There are tons of youtube videos on how to apply the finish and its really as simply as painting on with a brush.
