Being the optimist I guess this is a good thing. Let everyone else be the guinea pig to find an all new chassis' shortcomings. I have a TA03 that I'm building up on 15 years of experience LOL!!

Really though, the only reason I don't have one on the way is my a** is broke! I did find a few on eBay too. This would've been a much cheaper route than getting that TA03F.

True. I am looking forward to seeing some reviews and running footage of this chassis. It looks nice though and has up to 53 degrees steering lock.

Damn tamiya! I can't wait for mine to arrive :(

are the middle 4 the 3Racing CVDs? What is the real steering angle?

Tamiya you got yours already? Sweet! Awesome pic on the CVD's, now we'll start separating fact from fiction. Are the kit tires any good? And, does it really have a front and rear spool?

3Racing was smart when they released this chassis. Make it a well spec'ed basic car with a great low price, then rake in the cash on hop ups. Sorta like what Tamiya does but without the great low price.

ya the kit CVDs are labelled "D44"

Image

i suppose they are different to the Sakura CVDs i've seen before:-

(3Racing = 5th gunmetal one, with the shoulders tapering out near the ball ends)

at least the D3 gets 4 CVDs, not just 2 like in the Sakura ZeroS kit

Have you had a chance to drive this chassis yet?

dunno, carefactor not particularly high... they look pretty hard & plasticky.
(looks like someone took the Yokomo 1-ring tyre+ring and simply xeroxed it...)

They've glued them to the yellow wheels too so can't see what's inside;
they feel solid not hollow but not very dense either.

Yellow wheel 9-spoke design looks familiar... can't remember where i've seen it before.
Probably cribbed off a Yokomo or SpeedwayPal wheel... "D9" ?

And, does it really have a front and rear spool?

yup twin spools. Nylon outdrives with the alu tube around the outside to stop them splitting.
Not particularly convinced on front spool, haven't run that since TT01D era hahaha

Not much choice though... their D3 oneway diff doesn't look like its shipping yet
and its a different part# to existing Sakura parts so i guess its unique

i'd prefer a front diff & centre oneway.
But D3 uses tiny 13t pulleys that's pinned (by springpins) to the 4mm shaft
so there's not much room to play with; haven't seen any 13t oneway pulleys either.

heck yeah :(

they'll be doing a whole list of alloy & CF hopups...

all the parts are new & unique to the D3, nothing can be recycled from Zero

so everything's still "coming soon"

they'll be offering in pink alloy:-
-front bulkhead
-front shock tower mount
-rear bulkhead
-rear shock tower mount
-rear layshaft cradle
-frontmost hingpin mount
-rear belt tensioner post
-finned motor plate
-spur cover
-knuckles
-c-hub
-rear uprights
-brake discs
-steering rack

in CF:-
-SSG main chassis
-SSG upper deck
-SSG front shock tower
-SSG rear shock tower

add all the #s up and they'll total over JPY 40k

LOL! 100xp for cat meme!

Is that center chassis a R31 with the Eagle conversion? No whale tail diffuser for the blue chassis? What is that one anyway?

Wow, I was expecting the D3 to be mostly compatible with the Zero. Maybe with the FF? Anything peculiar during assembly? Was it an uneventful build?

There was a discussion on a local forum about this car. Looks to be a knockoff of the 3 Racing car. Some aluminum parts look to be different, the shocks are not threaded, and from what I read, the original has the 3 Racing logo on the motor mount. The antenna mount looks like a red overdose antenna mount too haha.

its probably just a 3rd-party CF chassis set for the D3 CS, that silver fibreglass
material looks a lot like what some cloner like TOPENDHOBBY currently use

We got this chassis into the shop a few weeks ago and things are looking to be settling in now. I will be building and driving this chassis. Coming from someone very new to drifting I will probably buy every hop up there is for it and be able to relate the info back to the forum.

We already have some suggestions on must have upgrades to allow for better control and will be reviewing everything as I come across it. I don't think I can say where I got it from in the states as I don't know if it is against forum rules. But you are welcome to email me for details.

Cheers,

PT
