"Front and rear metal hydraulic anti-vibration"
So that would be the chunk of metal on the CVDs? I've seen this design before, just though it interesting its coming back.

yeah if you look at the new suzuki high angle cvds, they have a balance weight on the middle of the shaft.
this plastic drb copy is interesting. It would be awesome if any of the original yokomo/DRB parts would fit.

Apparently R2 claim that DRB parts will fit. Looking at the Devil and so far the only complaint has been the the shocks, maybe it is a good buy. I just can't get over the price.

Re: DRB copy?
yeah, was thinking this could be ok donor for a legit DRB CF chassis... just with all craplastic everywhere else.
The yen is dropping, soon there will be no excuse for clones.

Sounds like a plan, you can get alloy fow and spools for it for next to nothing also. The fow for the R31 were hit and miss but i know that the fow for the zero's are good and $19.. Fingers crossed with the yen

Yokomo carbon plates cost more than the whole car
yay for cheap body posts and suspension arms.

can anyone share more info about the whole anti-vibration/balance weight and what they do? i know they provide less vibraton, but what does it do for drifting? smoother throttle response/steering feedback?
maybe less wheel whobble/chatter at full lock?

Re: DRB copy?
Less wobble at lock. Full size cars have all sorts of balancers, some harmonic, some just heavy and perfectly machined. I suppose it makes sense, but if you get a CVD that is designed right, maintained well... I don't see a need for it. But I've never tried or seen them, so maybe there's something there?

Re: DRB copy?
It's like having a flywheel on every drive shaft. Once it's set in motion, it resists movement, so the front wheels keep spinning at off throttle. Vibrations in the drive shaft joints acts as drag brake and slow down the front wheels. Slower acceleration from higher mass is not really a concern for drifting.
I don't think it has anything to do with balance. The vibration is inherent to the design of the drive shaft joint itself. You have to go double jointed, or true CVD like 1:1 cars.
