HPI '98 Subaru Impreza

Postby JaySushi » Wed Sep 19, 2012 5:55 pm

This is my 3rd body, first one ever that I did a two type body color, so it isn't perfect.
I'm about 3 weeks into this hobby, still getting the hang of doing the paint job right.

Unfortunately this subaru body's decal sheet didnt come precut so I had to literally hand cut all of the decals you see on it, still trying to finish it but this is the progress so far!

Not bad, I have seen much worse when dealing with more than one color. If you used tape to mask, try using a hard rounded object such as the cap of a sharpie marker to burnish your edges really good to avoid bleeding. I look forward to seeing this car once it is completed!

Yeah I did not think of that at all, I did use beige duct tape but I didn't burnish it, I only pressed down with my fingers roughly on the edges
so that could have been why it was bleeding through

Use blue painters tape or the green frog tape.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely use that next time haha.
The bleeding is not that noticeable from afar but very obvious up close.

But yeah I'll invest in some painters tape.
