toyota Celica 1600 GT

Postby Tiger.T » Mon Feb 18, 2013 6:45 pm

Hi all.
So I haven't posted much because I'm just getting back into the hobby, but here is my basher I run on my ABC Hobby Genetic.(don't mind the scratches :shy:)
Like the title says it's a Toyota Celica 1600 GT.
I fabricated the oil cooler in the front with a couple goodies I found around my house.
The plastic is from a plastruct sheet I had laying aroung. The welded fitting is a combination of antenna tube and Tech-Deck skateboard wheel nuts. The stainless hose are steel wire used to normally hang picture frame and stuff.
The tow hook is a chain link I found at Michaels (local craft store in the US) as well as the ribbon.
Enjoy the pics.

Oh yes they do!
I will post a video next weekend. I'll go to my local track to show you.
Last weekend was my first time there and I was running better lines than the locals who were running sprint 2s.
I have a front one-way, tight rear diff and stock gearing on a 13.5 Novak Drift spec.
The tires are from Spice and can be found there: http://banzaihobby.com/radio-control/dr ... d-abs-4pcs

yeah, post a vid when you can. i want a mini to drift. i tried a cup racer bout a year ago and it didnt work out so well, but i have heard these are ok. and theyre pretty cheap too. does abc sell 1 ways for them or was it rigged? also fyi abc sells similar tires if you dont want to wait for shipping from japan, or pay for it.

I will for sure.
And I got the tires from Banzai Hobby for one reason: the one stocked by ABC USA themselves are not stocked regularly and since I drift on carpet track I was worried that if I would use a medium compound from ABC it will grip too much. The tires I bought are from Spice.
ABC does make the one way. Their parts are high quality, you can put them on the same shelf as Tamiya or Yokomo.

Haha! that's exactly the car I used to inspire myself.
I just fell in love with it and had to steal a couple goodies from this 1:1.
The next one I will do will most likely be a replica of another Celica 1600 GT but this time it'll be a hatchback.
Btw I haven't forgotten about the video people asked me for. I will try to do this either by the end of the week or during the weekend
