WIP 180sx + first ever body

Postby AshDrifts » Sat Apr 13, 2013 7:04 am

To do -
+ Build the headlights correctly and give it a sleepy eye look
+ Light buckets front + rear
+ Roll cage
+ cut out all windows and replace with new plastic (Had a paint disaster when i sprayed the roof colour)
+ Create custom decals (Scale decals on bumpers/ windows + number plates)
+ Create an air filter + add inter-cooler piping

How it looks so far (Chassis hasn't arrived yet so it's all kinda balanced there so wheels wont have that much camber)

Excuse the phone camera, it's all i have at the moment :P

You could probably just clean up the windows using rubbing alcohol or something a little more abrasive! I'd imagine it would be difficult replacing all of that!

But I love what I can see! Keep up the good work!

i think its DOT 4 brake fluid (the one no one uses) will safely remove the paint without ruining the lexan. takes a bit of elbow grease though. and be careful not to rub off the wanted paint.

Thank's!

I will probably try cleaning them up, i am pretty scared of trying to replace it all as my cutting skill's are not what they used to be :P.

If i did i was going to just cut the lexan a few mm big and stick it from the inside. Than for the passenger and driver windows i was actually thinking about placing screw's poking out through the body than pop a piece of lexan over the top so it would look like the bolted on lexan windows you see on some track car's

Thanks, i'll probably try this when payday comes around :P

Tiny update, Been ill the past few day's so i've been bored at home and decided to mess around with a few design's for my headlights as i don't want to go out and buy another can of the paint i used (it was pure garbage)

I think i'm going to wrap them in this red and white foil just for a bit more of a street/drift rat kind of look.

Down:

Up (fitment isn't quite right yet)

I also cut them following the faint scores that they provide but they don't sit right at all so i think more trimming is in order, Also going to completely re wrap them with fresh foil aswell.
