mikep415's Tamiya e36 BMW 318i

Postby mikep415 » Wed Oct 23, 2013 1:04 pm

Hey guys, finally getting back to work on bodies now that my new chassis arrived. I recently did an e36 for a friends son and that made me want to start my own. Ive had this body for over a year and its the original 318i produced in the 90's(pre-drilled for TL01). I did manage to find a brand new factory reproduced e36 bare shell with no HOLES!!! Since i already have a replacement, this will be my daily beater body =) got most of the paint for done minus the buckets and lenses(may use wrap-up if i don't paint) and add body lines and lots more.

painted this on sunday and did all exterior trim last night.

10/22/2013 painted the exterior trim but still lacking paint on buckets. skipped the inside trim job as this is my basher/beater body so no need to go all out lol

Small update...

painted the light bucket housing and decided to go amber for the corner lights. Looking at Mike Burroughs E36 from StanceWorks convinced me more to do so.

his car (and main reason I did this color and style)

thanks bro! you're always a beast when it comes to bodies!

little tiny update since ive been busy with other builds and helping my gf with her events.

Added a divider between the corner and headlights. That way, it looks a bit more realistic and looking like the buckets were meant for this body lol. This also prevents the headlights(once LED are installed) leaking into the corner light housing. I also tried out a set of 8mm MST TMB wheels.
