TEH-R31 Convertion. Hand made new chassis.

Postby Saitama_D » Sat Sep 24, 2011 4:28 am

Hi brothers,

This is my Project.
Base component: TEH-R31 kit.

Material: 3mm 7075 T6 aluminium plate - main chassis,
1.5mm 7075 T6 aluminium plate - battery mount plate.

Idea: Make one deck chassis with better balance and handling.

Project maid with out any electro tools. Only my hand power. :) :) :)

This is a result of my one week work. May be in future i will make comercial version of this kit. ;)

BTW this is my HAND MADE new chassis.
Now Work progress 80%.

Sorry more picture later.

Welcom any suggestion.

Some problem because stock (R2) shoks and springs no work.
Now i wait EnRoute shock set with more different springs.
But 1st test drive no bad.
I think need litle work for find right setup.

Now chassis Balance point move to front in 23mm.

Pic Next set

Thanks Lance.

I just wanted make some different thing.
Today all brands make similar construction chassis. I think this no good.

When i made my chassis i was not thinking about style, only about right ballance and chassis performans.
But when i finished and looked at my chassis find out that it was something different and stylish.

Btw it's my baby i love it.

Does your spool wobble with the new spur holder?

No.
Vibration and other unpleasant things is not present.
I have done, given that the differential must be fixed properly and safely. Otherwise, the rotation can start collapse.
Everything works OK.
Already 4 days as I use the chassis and has not encountered any damage or mutations both in the construction of the factory parts.

Drive tests are fine.
The chassis is very responsive but not nervous and forgive small mistakes while driving. It is very nice.
whereas before I had to be using the throttle slightly to push the car to drift. Now I do not need it.
I can hold the throttle in one position and drive the car just steer.
I go through all the turns easily and without jerking the throttle.

In the coming days I'll post the video.

I mean the spur gear not in the differential. This is currently my biggest issue as my spur is wobbling making it hard to mesh it right with my pinion.

Can you make some more pictures on the spur holder and assembly? And possibly sell one spur holder?

I interest at this chasis and Saitama_D give it to me to try.
I don't like how it drifting. It is heavy to allow the back-end of car in skidding without large turns and it is impossible to go sideways by little speed as with CS.
You yet need to influence it and influence
