3 Racing Sakura D3 CS

Postby NW Drift » Wed Sep 19, 2012 2:33 pm

Has anyone read any reviews or seen footage of this chassis in action? I haven't found any videos on YouTube and so far I have read more negatives than positives about the Sakura D3 CS. :?

3racing chassis are quite popular in Russia, and several drifters had D3 preordered. Substantial feedback could arrive next week

Yeah, I have seen his videos but they don't actually show the car in action. That is what I am after in a video and the one you linked kinda makes the car sound like a turd.

Mine's been great, built it last Wednesday - doesn't disappoint.

Not perfect out of box & needs some work to make it perform/reliable,
but the kit's contents are pretty good to start with.

Well, that's good to hear. Do you think this would be a good chassis to dump money into by upgrading everything to alloy and carbon fiber?

I am leaning towards getting one of these chassis' too.
But instead of getting new electronics, and to save myself some money. I'm gonna convert my Sprint 2 Drift elec over to the D3.
Can't wait to see some feedback from the chassis to make my final decision!

Here's a video someone just posted up a few hours ago. There is another video but the audio and visual quality are garbage so I won't bother posting it.

when you build it the instructions are fine, but don't take their setup settings (shocks & gearing) as gospel...

handles ok out of the box but a tad snappy at the limit, the 'catch' window is small.
Will need to test some different settings & tape the battery down tight.

So far it sounds like this car is a fail in terms of quality.

Well, I have heard more negatives about the Sakura D3 CS than I have heard positives. That sounds like a fail to me.

it it what it is.. a budget drift chassis.. and all it needs is a couple of tweaks to be a winner.. oh and its cheaper than a tt01 with adjustability

Don't get butt-hurt and try to attack my TT-01. I am a beginner drifter and still deciding if I want to go RWD or 4WD CS. You are right though, the D3 CS is a cheap, budget chassis. I still want to get one, but I will wait until there are more upgrades for it and all of the kinks have been noted and/or worked out.
