Tamiya TT-01 Countersteer

Postby Spooke » Fri Aug 10, 2012 5:40 am

Hi guys, I'm new to this counter steer drifting and wanted to make my TT-01 counter steer drift. I know I need a countersteer kit but not sure which one is best.

What is the difference between,

http://www.genkidoridori.com/index.php? ... ts_id=2025

and this,

http://www.genkidoridori.com/index.php? ... ts_id=2026

I also know I need a front one way, will this work?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3Racing-TT01- ... _545wt_880

Will I need these too?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/39mm-unis-for ... _865wt_880

Thanks if you can help me out!

Seems like no one can help me here, I think I'll just underdrive the front and make up a custom rear cog to overdrive the rear.

I'll update this when I get started with it.

Would you guys recommend the lego 10T or a HPI 13T for the front?

Thanks, I couldn't find anything to answer my question though. But it doesn't matter now, I'm gonna make my own gears - like someone else did.

Will make a 10T for the front and a 20T for the rear which should give me CS 2.00 / 100% OD :P

I think I'll need to make up a custom steering setup too as I don't think standard is enough - or a faster servo.. can anyone recommened a cheap but fast steering servo?

Just an update if anyone is interested, made a start on the custom gear - found an old plastic screwdriver and cut it into shape, atm it is almost the perfect size, just need to cut in the 20T and it will be tested. If it is successful then I'll make a 10T for the front in the same way.

I'll make a tutorial for the next custom gear as I forgot to take any pictures of this one.

I only was able to carry on with the custom gear today. I had the shape all done, but when it came to marking up the teeth and cutting it they weren't cut perfect so I ended up binning it and will start over again.

This time I will make a guide step by step, may make it from a block of aluminium but I don't know if that will shred the standard diff gears? Otherwise I'll make it from plastic.

Will keep you updated, if you want more info PM me and I'll give you my email.
